What winch capacity do I need?
A common rule is at least 1.5 times your vehicle's gross weight. Most mid-size 4x4s use a 9,500–13,000 lb winch.
Steel cable or synthetic rope?
Synthetic rope is lighter and safer if it snaps. Steel cable handles abrasion better and needs less care.
Do I need a mounting plate?
If your bumper isn't winch-ready, yes. We have plates for many vehicles and universal plates by winch size.
